The book is set in Caralinda, Tennessee, in the fictional Bell County where Ray Taylor is sheriff [...]

Another long absence, but I’ve not been idle. Just lots of deadlines and personal complications. I’ve spent a lot of time in Alabama with my mom, and it looks as if the next few weeks will see more of that – deadlines and travel to Alabama. But I am going to try something a little [...]

Ray Taylor, former Marine and Memphis PD detective, is the sheriff of Tennessee’s rural (and fictional) Bell County. He’s a secondary character in my December book, Field of Danger—one who tried desperately to take over the tale. Obviously, he needed his own story.
Which he gets in a proposal I’m sending to Steeple Hill, working title [...]

The last few days have been mentally rough – lots of soul searching, praying, and decisions to make. My ego also got a bit out of control and had to be yanked back into line. The backstory would be boring, mostly, but I can’t say thanks enough to the folks who’ve sent good thoughts and [...]
