Productive . . . sort of

Yesterday Kim and I spent all most all our time in the garage. I drug most of the stuff out into the driveway, and we threw away almost a dumpster full, then set to organizing and stacking. We swapped out the table in my dining room (too big and will be for sale) with one in the garage. By the time we sat down to rest, we were both pooped. I still have a lot of boxes to sort and file/trash, and I discovered two boxes that haven’t been unpacked since I moved out of the house in south Nashville in 1993.

As I’ve said before, I’m not so much a packrat or collector as I am lazy. I hate to clean and can ALWAYS find something else to do . . . like write. I haven’t written much this weekend (I started out my morning digging weeds), but I am into the second chapter of the new book, which I hope to finish tonight.

The Face of Deceit ships to stores in a less than four weeks, and I know the LIS book club folks already have some of theirs. I will be shipping off those copies to folks who signed up to be influencers this week. I also have some copies to send as a result of a contest I held at my speech in Orlando, and I’ll announce those names as well.

I do plan to start running monthly contests, probably in October. The prizes will generally be a “basket” of books and other goodies. No chocolate (it melts too often with shipping), but there might be coupons for chocolate, among other stuff.

More later.
