This just came over the Middle Tennessee Christian Writers loop, prompted by some posts on the ACFW loop. So…the word is getting around. Still worth noting, however, that a new fiction line has been started at Abingdon Press, which is a division of the United Methodist Publishing House. This is a significant change in policy for the UMPH, which has not published fiction (outside children’s and YA books) in recent memory. I THINK AP did fiction a half-century ago, but nothing since the current growth in Christian fiction.
As a result, this is, in my opinion, a serious recognition of the growth in that field. This and the fact that many of the secular houses have added “inspirational” fiction lines. Someone’s paying attention.
Anyway there’s more information on Brandilyn Collins’ blog, Forensics & Faith, linked here. You have to scroll down to July 16th. Happy submitting.
