Has It Really Been More Than a Month?

Summer. My silly season. I think I’m pushing harder than I ever have, and not getting near as much done. At least to my mind. Between the air conditioner, trips to my mom’s, and the bathroom renovation, I fell more than a month behind on everything (house/book/work…), and I’ve been scrambling to catch up. I lose weekends in the summer because of conferences anyway, then the trips to my mom’s have sucked the time away.

I’m not complaining…just detailing. I’m hoping the increasing number of invitations I’m receiving to speak means that part of my career is rising as well. I will be speaking in Florida this weekend, then attending the AWSA awards. I’m flying into Orlando on Friday night and out on Sunday. In two weeks, I’m heading to the RWA National convention in San Francisco. I’ve promised everyone I’ll take the month of August off from writing and speaking, so I can work on the house and yard and just chill.

I’ll try anyway. I’m meeting with an agent and editor at RWA to pitch the book that finaled in the Lories, and if I get a request for a full . . . plans for August may change.

OK…to answer a question. Down below, Jen asked about influencers for FACE OF DECEIT. I now have my author’s copies, and I’m starting to market it…so, yes. I’ll be looking for at least five people who’d be willing to help me promote the book, either by posting reviews on Amazon, B&N, etc. or talking about it in other arenas. If you’d like to help, send me your name, email, and mailing address, and I’ll send the first five folks a book.
