Happy Birthday, Ray

Today is my brother’s birthday. About a decade ago, he sent me a card for MY birthday that read, “40 is not old . . . if you’re a tree.” It made me want to laugh while I punched him; unfortunately, all I could do was laugh. Since the late 70′s, Ray has lived in Virginia, and I only see him a couple of times a year. Worked for years at Mary Washington College/University as a teacher and administrator, but he’s now retired and living outside Richmond. But we’re still dropping acorns and trading cards. Only this year, I forgot the card, so I’m going to call him later.

I’m also packing for ICRS – the International Christian Retail Show that used to be just CBA. I will leave this house around 5:15 in the morning, even though I doubt I’ll get much sleep tonight. I still need to do some cleaning around here, take Rachel up to Phyllis’s place, and try to make the tech rehearsal for the Circle Players’ production of High School Musical – I’m listed as producer, but I won’t claim to have done much this time. The director, however, is an awesome young lady who has handled the tasks of this show with great skill and aplumb.

And, yes, I’ll find time to write. I must.

Time to change Rachel’s music. :) I’ll blog from ICRS whenever I can.
